Gite Carlit was brand new for the summer of 2018, built using wood felled and crafted by us here at La Taillede.

Named after one of the highest peaks in the region, it is situated on the top floor, so has the best mountain views on the property. Measuring 88m², It has a vast living area/kitchen dining room and 2 ensuite bedrooms. The larger bedroom can be for 3 children and an infant or a whole family (the 2 large singles can also be made into a super king double).

The breakfast terrace has seating for 8, 2 reclining chairs, and a BBQ and gets the sun early in the morning until around midday (depending on the season). Joining this terrace is a short path through the forest to the sky terrace with private hot tub, comfortable chairs and a coffee table. This terrace enjoys the most of the afternoon sun, well in to the evening during the summer months. There is a view over the top of the main building to the mountains in the distance. From the sky terrace is another short path up to a completely secluded hammock spot with views of the mountains of the High Vallespir and Batere. The sky terrace and hammock is for the exclusive use of guests in Gite Carlit.

Gite Carlit is fully kitted out with good wifi, tv, dishwasher, washing machine and 2 fridge/freezers. The gite has a powerful wood burning stove and underfloor heating throughout so is perfect for winter holidays.

Booking

You can check availability by entering your dates in the form below. If you prefer, you can contact us with any questions and we can send you the booking form to reserve your stay. We ask for 50% deposit to reserve, and a reminder will be sent to you 30 days before your arrival so you can pay the balance.

I am sorry, we do not take cheques.

Sheets, shower and hand towels, some tea, coffee, olive oil, toilet roll and all cleaning products are included. We also provide enough fire wood for a fire each evening and to use the hot tub every day.

Beach towels/dressing gowns can be rented for €8 each.

Please note, a €75 cleaning and laundry fee will be added to the price when booking, as well as a refundable damage deposit which will be paid back onto your payment card after we have cleaned the gite, if nothing important was damaged.

We are also obliged to collect the ‘Taxe de Sejour’ which is a tourist tax. This amounts to €1.30 per adult per night.

The minimum stay is 2 nights most of the year, and 1 week minimum during peak only (July & August), changeover day is Saturday. 5 nights minimum Christmas/New Year.

There is an 8% discount for bookings of 1 week or more.

Please note; Pets are not allowed, no parties & no additional guests are permitted to visit other than those staying with us. Maximum number of guests in this gite is 5 (plus infant).

This gite is best suited to people with a reasonable level of fitness as there are steps to reach the hot tub and hammock spot.
